Can Anyone Suggest some good free anti-spyware/ virus protection software?

When I say good anti-virus/spyware software, I mean really good, something that protects against trojan, and free, please and thank u.

    the best anti-spyware i av seen yet is webroot spyware. its lite and really fast plus very effective. first in topten list of above site. u can get all of its features on the site.

  2. Avira, 100%, but if you really want good protection you will need a paid AV like BitDefender, Kaspersky, Eset

  3. I fix a lot of computers for friends and what not. I usually recomend AVG Free and install it on the computers I fix for people that don’t want to pay for anti-virus. I have had a lot of positive feedback from those I have installed it for.

  4. adaware is free, but free checkers wont stop virus’s like paid programs.

  5. Microsoft Security Essentials, if you want something free.

    However, you will probably get better protection with Kaspersky, F-Secure or Norton Internet Security 2010, as they are more advanced.

  6. i’m using avast home edition . The new version has been released on their website. It s a freeware. You can register yourself on the avast website to recive the registration key . They provide timely updates (small in size, ie. In kb’s. Which s usefull for people with limited internet plans ). It s fully legal n it generates a virus recovery database to report avast about the new viruses .
    To detect n delete malwares on your comp use malware bytes . Another free software . N a powerfull tool to clean your comp of malwares. I use these softwares myself .
