Getting rid of Spyware Guard 2008?
Okay, here’s everything: Spyware Guard 2008 has been on my computer for about a week. I’ve tried getting rid of it. Obviously, I’ve been unsuccessful. The only way it’s affected my computer (that I know of) is that it moves slower, and that I’m redirected to a new site every time I use a search engine. Oh, and almost every time I’ve tried to go to a site for anti-spyware or anti-malware software, the page won’t display.
From what I’ve seen, the two programs recommended the most are SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes. I’ve downloaded Malware bytes, installed it, but it won’t open. I’ve tried opening it in Safe Mode, but when I do, my computer freezes when I go to log in. Spyware Guard 2008 has pretty much disabled me from downloading SuperAntiSpyware – it’s just not happening.
So now, I’m not looking for something free, I’ll pay if I have to. First, is there anything that I could go out and buy from the stores to fix the problem? Because that it what I’d like to do right now. Or is the software that can fix this only available through online download? I mean, am I gonna HAVE to go through the hassle of downloading the programs onto another computer, and getting them onto mine with a memory stick?
If you can help, thanks ![]()
My computer is a Windows XP, if that matters at all.

I have the same thing except it is not spy gaurd it is antivirus 2009 =(
go to softspedia.com and download malwarebytes
spyware guard will block you from downloading from certian places, but theres alot of places to download it from
an idea, go to a friends computer and download it from there. burn it to a cd or to a usb memory stick. Take it home and install it from there
AFTER INSTALLING AND UPDATING DEFITIONS, EXIT COMPUTER AND GO TO SAFE MODE
RUN MALWAREBYTES FROM THERE
GOD LUCK

use manual removal instructions
I can’t help you other than I have the same problem.
I hit internet options and cleaned all
I used Spybot (free) to do a system scan and cleaned all
I used Hijack this (free) and deleted all registry files.
Still I have the problem
I think it is a virus program created by anti virus progrm companies that wants you to pay to remove itself.
stopzilla will get rid of spyware gaurd 2008 as well as antivirus 2009 and many other rogue programs if you can download it. it is not a free program it is like 20$ after mail in rebate. it killed antivirus 2009 and spyware gaurd 2008 on my pc with no probs and i didnt even have to go to safe mode to do it.

Malwarebytes can be installed in safe mode but not Superantispyware. Download either Superantispyware or Malwarebytes. In my opinion these go hand and hand with each other because what one misses the other picks up. If you are using Internet Explorer I recommend using Mozilla Firefox because there is a less chance of malware targeting this browser, although it is still possible. If you have problems downloading or installing the malware removal tools please send an email to me and I will give you a step by step advice to fix this. Malware tends to block the download and installation of anti-virus and anti-spyware programs and websites. If you successfully download either of the tools and can’t install them, try renaming the installer, this does work from time to time. I recommend scanning in safe mode because a lot of times safe mode disables malware but this is not totally accurate. You can access safe mode by tapping F8 when your computer restarts, make sure to go into safe mode with networking to update the malware removal tools. I also recommend turning off system restore because users can restore their PC back to an infected state. You can do this by right clicking my computer, select properties, select system restore, and select turn off system restore.
Update and do a quick scan with Malwarebytes and a full scan with Superantispyare to get rid of any malware that is installed on your PC. I recommend doing a scan with only one of these tools at a time because there may be complications. Once the removal process is finished restart your computer and turn system restore back on. Run Ccleaner and delete temporary files and invalid registry entries. If you have any questions email me at dejay19826@yahoo.com
