How to fix wireless connection after malware removal?
Recently removed Antivirus Soft via the instructions here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-antivirus-soft the thing was still in my registry and when restarting windows i went into cmd line and ran regedit. The hot key i removed was HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings "ProxyServer" = "http=000.0.0.0:1" as per the instructions. On restart comp is clean and the malware doesnt pop up or in my files anymore. However I still cant get online. I went back to internet Options but I dont see anything wrong. When repairing my wireless connection it disables the adapter re-enables the adapter and fails at connecting to the wireless network, did I remove something I shouldn’t have?
Used malwarebytes as per bleeping computers recommendation, but MBAM is already out dated when it comes to malware registry entries. That is why I had to go in via Safe Mode with access to Command Prompt. I use windows XP by the way.

Virus can be very had to remove and just because it is not popping up any more does not mean that every thing is off of the computer. Here are some ides. When I am working on computers that have been cleaned the most common problem is a proxy still in the lan settings. I believe you said that you removed it. It would be in internet options on the connection tab under lan settings. If the use a proxie server is checked un check it. I don’t know what version of windows you are using so I will speak generally on this part. I would go in and remove your saved wireless connection and then reconnect to it. If the connection is secure it should ask for a key. There is a chance that the virus corrupted the connection information. If that does not fix it and your still unable to connect wireless I would reinstall the wireless card drivers. One last thing would be to run your virus scan and make sure that it comes up clean. I would also run a malware scanner such as malwarebytes or what ever your scanner is on your computer. I hope that you can fix this with out formatting the computer but sometimes you have to bite the bullet and do so to get rid of these problems. Best of luck.

Man I really feel for you I had that whole thing happen to me once too. I ended up backing up all my files that I wanted then did a format & reinstall.
I have read that you can try to roll back the settings to a previous RESTORE POINT when the settings worked. Try and pick a date before you got the virus just in case Windows tries to restore that too.
I had my restore points turned off or I think this would have worked for me.
