My usb drive has been hit with Malware. Is there a good program for removing it?

It turned my folders into .exe programs, then hid them. On one of my laptops, it won’t let me check "show hidden folders." Seriously: every time I click it, it reverts back. I’d just google USB malware removal, but I’m a little untrusting at this point. Any advice?

    1. DONT EVER USE AUTO-RUN OR RUN ANY FILES.
    2. In "(my) Computer" right click then select "format" and follow on-screen instructions.
    3. If all else fails, run computer in safe mode and repeat step 2.

To get into safe mode: When turning on your computer, keep hitting f8 then select "Safe mode".

  2. try safer-networking.org download spybot search and destroy. after scanning your computer then insert pendrive and scan it by right clicking and selecting that drive…do the same thing with Avira.com free personal antivirus

  3. http://www.malwarebytes.org/
its a free program , aimed at malware removal !

    Good Luck

  4. Install Avira antivir – Antivirus, I trust it and it removes the virus you talking about
    Download page
    http://www.avira.com/en/pages/index.php

    Now scan the drive

From next time don’t use the drive on untrusted PC

Avira is free to use personally and free updates too.

  5. Install a good antivirus – AVG, AVIRA, AVAST (all free) and scan with them.
