Need help getting rid of Trojan virus?

There is a trojan virus on my computer that prevents the desktop from opening. On my computer when it is turned on it seems normal until I am logged on and all i see is a purely black background and a program that appears as either "Privacy tools" or "Privacy componants" and it appears to be a virus scanner that tells me there are like 200 problems with my computer. Is there a way that I can get my desktop and start menu back? I even got Norton to run somehow but it said the virus required manual removal, which I cant do without running any programs. I can’t get Norton to run again either.

  1. in safe mode F8 run malwarebytes anti-malware and SUPERAntispyware, and what they find you
delete it manually. then run ccleaner to clean your pc, and mvregclean, to clean registry.
what mvregclean find you remove because the key is there but not the file ,folder or program.
even you reformat and it finds anything remove dont be afraid.
dont forget when you install this software to update them, and do an update every day
then restore until before you get infected.

  2. Hello,

It sounds like you are infected with a trojan. So I think you are having a hard time because trojan’s are not exactly viruses. So most anti-virus programs will not remove them, because they do not see them as viruses.

A couple of month’s back I suffered a nasty trojan infection. It completely screwed my computer up. Every time I would get on the internet I would get blasted with pop-up after pop-up.

It got so bad, I thought I would have to get a new computer. So out of frustration I called Geek Squad. They wanted $200 to Look at my computer, and that didn’t include fixing it. No Way!

It wasn’t until I was searching google for a trojan remover that I came across the solution to my problem.

I found a website that gave honest reviews of the best spyware removal programs. So I checked into it, and the best product, AdwareAlert is also capable of removing Trojans.

I quickly downloaded AdwareAlert and scanned my computer.

It found all the trojan worms, and spyware infections that none of my other programs could find and delete.

I have been running AdwareAlert now for the last couple of months, and it has been doing an awesome job at keeping my computer spyware free.

I never have pop-ups anymore, and my computer is running like a dream.

You can Visit the website I found in google below.

    Hope this was helpful.

  3. a trojan?
please I can delete that without an antivirus
btw norton wont help get avg antivirus and install it

  4. AdwareAlert is a rogue program so please dont fall for it, use something like Avira AntiVir free wonderful product, and or malwarebytes free, the free ones are just as good or better.,

  5. to get explorer to run
    1.) Hit CTRL+ALT+DEL
    2.) Select "Start Task Manager"
3.) In "Task Manger", select "File/New Task (Run)"
4.) Type in "explorer" (being "Windows Explorer)
    5.) Press ENTER.

a fix maybe(not from the virus,to get the windows explorer to start up on boot)?

Start REGEDIT by pressing WINDOWS+R(or ctrl+alt+delete>new task>regedit.exe), typing
    REGEDIT and pressing
    enter.
In the left pane Navigate to the key
    "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE
    \Microsoft\Windows
    NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon"
    In the right pane,
the following entries should have these values:

    - Shell=explorer.exe
    - UserInit=C:\Windows\system32
    \userinit.exe,
If the above values are different,
    then you must correct them.
    These
entries are hidden from programs such as
    msconfig, and are thus easy
    targets for malware authors to
"embed" ther stuff in a place that cannot
    easily be removed.

  6. Try using Malwarebytes’s Anti-malware, it removes most infections from what I have seen. You can download it here at http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php. The free version is as capable of removing viruses and trojans as the retail one, so don’t bother paying.

  8. Restart and enter safe mode by pressing F8 just before the windows screen . You only have a few seconds. Or safe mode with internet access. then you can run norton .Or try -www.malwarebytes.org If all else fails run hijack this. But do not use Hijack this in repair mode. Make a logfile and post it on a expert forum. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HijackThis

  9. start up and tap the F8 key at the same time until screen appears choose safemode with networking open browser and go to Onecare.Live.com choose protection scan there are two other scans available try them next

  10. You need to kill the process and the dll files attached to the trojan. You need to edit the msconfig and registry to stop it from loading startup. Here is a good tutorial:

  11. Hi,

Try using programs such as spyware doctor, run a complete scan with an anti-virus kit, be sure to do all of this in safe mode.

  12. 1.

Scan your hard drive using AVG. AVG is a free anti-virus program that actually works better than some anti-virus programs that you would pay for. AVG can usually pick up and destroy trojans with minimal fuss. When AVG finishes scanning, it will bring up a list of malicious software on your hard drive. AVG will try to remove these on its own, but sometimes it cannot, and will give you the option to place it in a “virus vault”. The virus vault is a place the AVG uses to isolate the viruses that are on your hard drive, and keeps them from harming your PC farther. If this does not remove all of the malicious trojans on your hard drive, move on to step 2.
    2.

Visit TrendMicro Housecall and use its free online scanner to try to detect and remove the trojans. Housecall does a very good job at picking up and removing things that AVG might have overlooked. What’s even better than that is the fact that it’s based in a web browser, so it cannot be altered or corrupted by any harmful software. After Housecall has finished, it will show you a list of harmful software on your computer. Then you will have to manually select it and try to remove it. If this fails to remove the harmful trojan from your computer, move on to step 3.
    3.

Write down the harmful files that weren’t removed from the scans. The scans will give you details on the files that the software is attached to, so writing down the name of the file and the location of the file is important.
    4.

Attempt to manually delete these files. Sometimes, a trojan will not let you delete it in any way. If all of the above so far has failed, then it may be time to get a bit more drastic.
    5.
    5

Formatting your hard drive is always a good way to ensure that you can get rid of the trojans on your hard drive for good. It’s a bit drastic, but leaving these malicious programs on your hard drive can only do harm to you. You leave more personal information on your hard drive than you realize, and many of the programs that the trojan will download to your computer are designed to try to steal your personal information, so that people can use it to ruin your credit.
