Hey, so my computer seemed to have picked up this annoying little bug.

I tried downloading and installing malwarebytes, it let me download it but won’t let me run setup in order to install it (anytime I run it, the virus starts running as av.exe in processes and the setup never comes). It won’t let me run Spybot S&D either. It let’s me run HijackThis, but it won’t let me run HJT as administrator and therefore I cannot get a log that I can post. It will not let me run Mozilla Firefox, or Internet Explorer from clicking the icons. In order to get on the internet, I need to go to Run -> www.google.ca.

So, any suggestions on how I can get rid of this? I have tried all of the "manual self-help remove it by doing this" sites, but I cannot find any of the files in the registry or on my computer.

IS there anyone who doesn’t just copy and paste what they google? I already stated that I tried those sites.

For fucks sake do I have to reformat the whole damn drive
Managed to run System Restore, but it said "An unspecified error occured and system was not able to restore" and then like 10000 copies of av.exe started running.

Command.exe is absolute hell. I have spent more than 24 hours non stop trying to deal with the malice of this malicious script.

I was infected with:

Surfkick – on Add and Remove Programs.
Spyware.ISearch
Adware.Look2Me – which runs command.exe

Apparently the publisher is:
iDownload.com

If this website publishes material like this, laws should be enacted to make it illegal.

I happened to catch all this and more whilst trying to download through Limewire.

I have had no sleep. In the end I tried frantically to get my system back to factory condition using manufacturer’s CD, and reinstalled everything again.

WHAT THE MALICIOUS SCRIPTS DO:

*When you try to search in google and the address bar (e.g. "how to remove command.exe, the script continually hijacks the search and sends you to ads advertising "free" spyware removal and random rubbish.

* Norton, Anti-Adware software fail.

Does any one have a reputable and genuine way of removing command

OK, so im searching on google right? and i click on a link and it takes me to ebay estate sales. OMFG, so i look into this malware and all i can find is people talking about reimaging their pc. I want help removing this. I have found a few ways other than that but they are very confusing cuz just out of no where the person say " That seems to have fixed it," but it has nothing to do with what the helper said. I need someone to help me remove this malware, and i do have team viewer, so if u want to do it that way than that could work. ALSO: when i tried to run on safe mode, it says like loding driver, than i get a blue screen with a question mark at the top left hand corner, the rest is blank. I really f’ing need this gone, considering im getting a new Nvidia 9400 GS graphics card and 2 GB of ram for christmas, and there is no point installing anything on an infected PC…

Well apperently unknown to me i got a bunch of "trojans" out of nowhere today and It slows down my computer alot and it angers me a little. I had the mcafee virus scan and thats how i found out. So i went to google and typed in "trojan removal free" and stopzilla came up. So i downloaded that and got a 15 day free trial. After hours of a scan it says like 800 elements found (or something like that) so when i went to remove all and i find out they show me all these adware and spyware and a virus on my computer just to tell me i have to pay to remove them. So what im asking for is…
Does anyone know a good free program to remove these things off my computer? Thank you.
And do you think i shold get rid of stopzilla since its not helping me?

I’m pretty positive I just got a virus or spyware. My net goes real slow, I keep getting popups, and somehow it changes my google searches. I see in m task manager a ew weird things runing, like chkntfs.exe, and v6.exe. What is a good FREE spyware removal? Last time I used what was supposed to be a good free one, it deleted a system file so I’m wary. And I can’t search google because this thing won’t let me. Help please!!
I’m pretty sure it was Adaware SE that ruined my PC last time. Can someone recommend programs (free) that they have used before which have worked well?

It turned my folders into .exe programs, then hid them. On one of my laptops, it won’t let me check "show hidden folders." Seriously: every time I click it, it reverts back. I’d just google USB malware removal, but I’m a little untrusting at this point. Any advice?

My home PC has just been (re)infected with that obnoxious Antivirus Software Alert trojan. We’re getting "infiltration alert" notices every few seconds, and IE is automatically opening several windows with porn sites as the default URL. No other URLs work in IE. Same goes for Google Chrome. The only browser that runs right now is Firefox, which is how I’m online right now. In the past, I’ve been able to remove similar trojans using MalwareBytes. Now, I cannot run MalwareBytes because its executable is infected. None of our anti-malware apps – Norton, MS Security Essentials, SpyDoctor, McAfee – run because of the infection. In fact, Firefox is one of the few apps on the whole PC that’s not infected. Can’t use iTunes, photo viewers, Office, or anything else. And the download feature is broken, so I can’t download any new malware removal app.

Does anyone know a clever way to get rid of this thing?? Help!
Ok – I’ve just asked my husband to make a clean copy of MalwareBytes using his work computer. When he gets home, we’ll reboot in safe mode, install and run the clean version, and see what happens. (To be honest, as a software engineer, I’m a bit embarassed I didn’t think of this myself…) Thanks!

QUESTION ONE
Would anyone suggest paying the to purchase the xpsecuritycenter. I believe a company like XPSecurityCenter.com, that will hijack your computer, would probably drain your bank account if they got that information.

I received a temporary solution with the trial version of Spyware Doctor which isolates the virus (buritos.exe) and others. But the problem keeps recurring.
