I have a fully paid for AVG but it does not seem to remove mal/adware. My laptop is getting so slow I need help but can’t really afford to take it to the computer shop. I have tried downloading what appears to be free stuff but then it removes a tiny bit and asks for money to remove the rest. Can someone help please? I will say thanks in advance as often I can’t get onto the internet.
I am running Windows XP.

ok so my laptop is verrrrrry slow and i know there has to be a virus as i have tried everything else to speed it up, but even when i scan with panda it only detects minor spyware etc no actual viruses i.e trojans etc anybody help?

dont how got this on my laptop, but the windows security center pops up all the time and tells me that they found files infected and that i need to purchase antimalware, also i ie window will pop up randomly, it also wont let me open any programs.

i tried running computer in safe mode and was able to run a different antimalware i have and when did nothing came up on it.

any help on what i can do ?

I have never had a problem with spyware before, and I have had this laptop for over a year. I have Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition, which I run scans through at least once a month. I have a pop-up client through Yahoo and Symantec which has never failed me until recently.

The past few weeks I have been getting full-window-sized pop-ups, often times after I have been using Yahoo search. The pages generally pertain to what my searches had been about, but they are spam pages. I also get warnings from the Symantec for Trojan viruses and another virus called InfoStealer. Symantec can usually quarantine them.

I do not want to have to wipe my hard drive clean – I have over 5000 songs on my computer, multiple digital family photo albums, and all of my classwork for school.

Please help!

i have a windows vista laptop and jurt recently i’ve been getting this "security system- protection control panel" pop-up. i know it’s some sort fo spyware/malware but i can’t seem to get it removed. is there any software available that can remove this annoying pop-up?
many others have had this problem. i’ve checked forums and all of them consist of a long and time consuming way. there is no way to remove it by going to add and remove software. i’ve ran anti-viruses, ad-aware, and other software non of which can find it and delete it.

A program has installed itself on my laptop and is forcing me to buy an anti virus. How can I get rid of it. It is called Your Protection. It keeps blanking out my screen. Can anyone suggest a free way to remove this annoying program?

Hi, I am using windows Vista. Two days back i had a malware in my laptop. (It was something like windows vista antispyware 2010). In order to get rid of it i used the software from http://www.superantispyware.com/. I installed it.
It removed my malware successfully then i rebooted my computer. After restarting when i opened my browser firefox then instead of opening it, it opened a new "Open With" window and was calling mozilla as .exe file. Same thing is happening with all other files like yahoo messenger, itunes, kaspersky antivirus. All have become an .exe file. What should i do now????/

I’m trying to get rid of the Trojan Virus on my computer, so I’m looking at AVG Free virus removers, but how on earth am I supposed to know which one to download? Can anyone tell me?

I don’t really find that necessary… my internet company, Hughes Net, told me that AVG is really safe and affective, so that’s who I’m trusting.
Damn. Hopefully I can find a homemade remedy that works. I really don’t want to have to take it anywhere.
I actually need a whole new laptop. This things about shot. Not just from viruses, but I kinda need a shock absorbent laptop to keep up with my abuse! Lol.

I don’t think any of those virus removers include Trojan, so I’m gonna do a AVG scan and see if it comes up..
