Every couple months or so Firefox will freeze and open what seems to be a PDF file in another tab. Adobe Reader opens and runs a script or something, but I always close it before it finishes because I freak out. If I don’t close the Firefox window right away, it takes forever before I can fully close it using ctrl+alt+del. It did this twice last night.

I looked it up and saw that this could be malware, but I can’t find ANY info whatsoever on how to get rid of it. I’ve run a couple programs (including Malwarebytes) and it hasn’t found anything.

The pdf.php address includes the word "zowaweoirqo", but when I search for it on the internet nothing comes up.
I’ve also tried the Microsoft Malware removal. Nothing I’ve tried is catching it.

I know i have malware but nothing gets rid of it. I have used spybot S&D, smitfraudfix, microsoft malicious tool remover, mcafee, uniblue spy remover, and norton. This malware does not come on until I open a browser mozilla and IE both open up and open up two tabs one goes to some site advertising like ebay or adultfriendfinder etc, the other is my actual home page. Any one know how to get rid of this. I tried to go into safe mode and run all a/v and spyware removers nothing! I researched and found nothing I also even tried removing my mozilla and reinstalling it and nothing I dont want to wipe my hard drive if i dont have to!

My computer has been seriously infected with some malware and viruses. i cant do any microsoft updates i cant get the microsoft malware removal tool and malwarebytes wont install correctly/load up. If its possible i want to remove these issues with a free program but if its impossible any cheap good software? Thanks for you help.

I have Microsoft Windows XP and Mcafee Security Center which includes Mcafee Virus Scan 10.0.27 with engine version 5100, dat version 4883. Yesterday I was browsing the web and I clicked on some link for a site, and all of a sudden a warning box popped up from mcafee saying "Trojan Exploit-IEPageSpoof was found in: C:/documents and settings/owner/local settings/temporary internet files/zone[1], this file cannot be cleaned what do you wanna do?" So I clicked quarantine file and it said "it cannot be quarantined" and it said the same thing when i clicked delete file. So then I figured I would manually delete it so I went to my temporary internet files folder and couldn’t find anything that said zone[1], so I ran a virus scan and it said "no infected items found." SoI rebooted my computer and cleared my temporary internet files, rebooted again and started it in safe mode, and ran a full system scan, and it said "no infected files found." Is my computer ok? Or is the virus still on it???

My parents just got a brand new monitor & CPU 2 weeks ago as a combination birthday & Mothers’ Day gift for my mother from a cousin of mine who lives in California,and,it was installed in our home office by my nephew.

It’s great except for the fact that it has no anti-virus program in or with it.

My mother is glad that I’m helping her look for the right & the cheapest,even free anti-virus programs.I started to help her this morning when she was on her computer,and,I told her that I would go on Yahoo!Answers to ask for recommendations.

My parents new monitor & CPU is from the Dell Corp. and it has the Microsoft Windows Vista XP Home edition program with a built in firewall,but,once again,no anti-virus protection.
