i heard somewhere that if you keep up to date with updates from microsoft or whatever you have, then you dont need to have a spyware program. is that a smart thing to do? to me it doesnt but i dont really know anything about it. i just dont want to get a virus, but im sick of dealing with trials of spyware and i extremely dislike macefee and nortons.. any suggetstions?? my trial to one-care expires in a few days. would it be a good idea to just let whatever happen happen after it expires?
I picked up this nasty little bugger from some website (no it wasn’t porn!) You may know of it, it sends fake infection messages and asks you to buy their software and also bombards you with pop up ads through IE. I see found lots of removal tools using a web search and it looks like I will have to pay for one as manual removal is complicated and not always 100% effective. What I’m asking is advice from people with experience on this specific virus what is the best, safest removal tool? I don’t want to download a removal tool that won’t be 100% effective or is simply another scam / virus.
my pc is infected with both and i cant download any anti virus free or otherwise in normal mode or safety cause the of the virus and i heard trying to remove it yourself you could accidentally harm your computer further. also with system security and malwareremovalbot on my pc is there any danger or key loggers or them getting my passwords?
On my XP desktop, I have been using Avast Free Anti-virus for several years, along with Windows Defender and IoBit Security 360 Pro. The combination does a good job of protecting my system. I would like input from people who have had experience with the anti-virus function of MS Security Essentials and Avast concerning which seems to be the best, in terms of system protection, system load, and ease of use. I am thinking of switching to MS SE if most users feel it is better.
