   download the yahoo toolbar with anti-spy.. it scans your computer and takes out spyware

   SpyBot Seach & Destroy is awesome. It updates, it has a Immunize feature, it has an optional TeaTimer setion that prevents new program installations. Get it from http://www.download.com

   Ad-aware is very good too. also from download.com

   All have a free version that will scan and remove problems.

   You can have several on your computer running at the same time. I have all of the above plus some.

   Some scanners will pick up potential problems that others miss. Depending on just one is not a wise decision.
